Toot My Own Horn

I am so please to say that I have had my 100th sale on Etsy today.
I feel so blessed to be allowed to do what I love so much.
I have enjoyed art my whole life. I don't remember a time when I was not drawing or making something. I remember as a small child sitting in church beside my mother and drawing. I loved the way the light from the stained glass windows looked shinning on my paper. Sometimes when I am working and all of the colors of polymer clay are all over the place I am transported back to sitting in the light of those stained glass windows. There is a saying a came across in a book some time ago....

~The Beauty is there to remind us of the one who created the diverse beauty of our world for His own delight.

I hope He finds delight in the way I use the gift He has given me.

School has Started

Wow...this is a huge change for me. I have taught Pre-K for 11 years, and this is my first year to not start back to school. I decided to resign my teaching position after spring break last year...sometimes I really miss it, but for the most part I am very happy with the decision I made. Sometimes I forget who I am because for so many years I have been Mrs. Lynn the preschool teacher...(reminder to self I am the creator of Lynn's Little Creations)...Normally this time of year is busy getting a classroom together, and make sure all of my lesson plans are in order. This year is much calmer...I am totally immersed in what I love the most...my art!

The Winner is....

Beetreebyme for her sculpture of Gilda, a black lab who works on the bomb squad.

Our theme was “personal hero,” and we had 15 entries depicting heroes special to us. Congratulations, beetreebyme! What a beautiful sculpture of a canine hero. (Pssst, you can get a personalized pet sculpture of your very own here at her shop!)

The voting was very close again this month - 2nd, 3rd and 4th place winners all slid in right next to each other. A Soldier and His Bride by lynnslittlecreations (that's me)came in second (hey - you can get my wedding toppers custom made, too, right here!)

In third and fourth places are divadea’s slayer necklace and SilverGate’s black and white woman necklace.

Thanks to all the PCAGOE members who participated, and thanks to everyone who voted!

A Pirate's Story

his was such a cute story about the cake topper I created for Ter that I had to share it...

Cake topper story
Over the past couple of weeks, I'd been working with Lynn of lynnslittlecreations on Etsy.com to have a custom cake topper made of my FH and I, for our pirate themed wedding. Everything went really well, and she posted the cake topper as "Reserved for terwashere", so that only I could buy it.

Cute, huh?

Well, my FH just told me that he got a call from his dad. Apparently his dad's wife had been hunting around online, trying to find a pirate themed wedding cake topper for us, since we had been having trouble. She came across this very topper, before I had bought it, and was disappointed to find it was "reserved" for someone else.

She had no idea that it was I who had reserved it, until my FH told his dad to pass on the message. Good thing, too, or she may have tried to get a second one of us custom made by the same person.

I'm so excited: I'll get it in the mail next week.

Thanks, Ter for posting information around about me...I really enjoyed working with you! Best wishes for the wedding of your dreams!
